Maintenance: 1-8 mg PO QDay

XR:

Initial: 4 mg PO QDay with breakfast; titrate at 3-4 wk   intervals

Maintenance: 4-8 mg PO QDay

 

0.4 mg PO QDay; if no response after 2 to 4 weeks, may   increase to 0.8 mg

 

 

 

 

Initial: 1 mg PO QDay HS

Maintenance: 1-10 mg PO QDay; MAX 20 mg/day

5- Alpha-reductase inhibitors (5-ARIs) – Finasteride (Proscar) 

 

 

– Dutasteride (Avodart,   Jalyn)

5 mg PO QDay;  alone or   in combi w/ doxazosin 

 

Monotherapy: 0.5 mg PO QDay

Combination: 0.5 mg PO and tamsulosin 0.4 mg QDay

Abnormal ejaculation, Breast tenderness, Reduced libido– Neoplasm of male breast

– Prostate cancer, high-grade

 

-Disorder of breast, abnormal   PSA

– Disorder of ejaculation Impotence Reduced libido

– Cutaneous hypersensitivity

– Immune hypersensitivity reaction

– Angioedema

Phosphodiesterase   type 5 (PDE5) Inhibitor Tadalafil (Cialis) 5 mg PO QDay at the same time – Flushing- Indigestion, Nausea

– Backache, Myalgia

– Headache

-Nasopharyngitis, Respiratory tract infection

– Angina, Chest pain, Heart failure, Myocardial infarction,   Tachycardia

– Stevens-Johnson syndrome

– Cerebral hemorrhage, Cerebrovascular accident, Seizure

– Non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy, Retinal artery   occlusion, Thrombosis of retinal vein

– Decreased hearing, Sudden onset, Sudden hearing loss
