BRENTWOOD, TENN., AUGUST 9, 2014: As its newly-appointed chief communications officer and board member, Vladimire Herard is pushing to expand the scope and reach of PharmPsych.com from serving the field of pharmacy to supporting related medical professions as well.
Herard, a Chicago-based health journalist and freelance writer, brings to PharmPsych.com, an online publication focused on promoting and improving the field of pharmacy, 21 years of writing and editing experience.
Published by three newspapers in Chicago and Syracuse, N.Y., two government-and-nonprofit-oriented, trade-specific newsletter chains and one state wire service in Washington, D.C., and three publications online, she has tackled the issues of the pharmaceutical industry, food, drug, cosmetics, blood products and medical device safety regulations and law, federal health insurance, senior long-term care and aging, funding for drug abuse treatment and prevention and programs for troubled youth, public education reform and community development.
Herard plans to infuse her contributions and changes to the PharmPsych platform with her exposure to the different subjects she has covered and her familiarity with different media formats.
She shares the company’s vision of developing the PharmPsych website as an online community for medical professionals and an ever-evolving portal offering more products and services to advance the field of pharmacy and relevant medical professions.
“I come to PharmPsych fully prepared to help shape the Pharm Psych brand as the ‘go-to’ website for pharmacists and other medical professionals,” Herard says. “My background in writing about important medical issues and my experience and training in various media formats will support the success of Pharm Psych.com’s newest ventures.”
Herard’s responsibilities will include producing material about the pharmaceutical industry, the field of pharmacy and relevant health fields, especially careers and ongoing education, senior long-term care and consumer issues. She will coordinate the writing and editing activities of other medical writers and confer with members of the company’s team on managing content on the site.
